This is a small, family, restaurant with great service and amazing food so reservations are a must! The portions are huge and the prawns are my recommendation.
O Alberto – Just 2 minutes away TripAdvisor
Excellent Portuguese, open-kitchen cooking, all from fresh. The owner-chef (Alberto) cooks everything to order and has owned the restaurant for over 30 years. We visit at least once every visit and the food is always the same, excellent. Top recommendations from us are the steak and the salmon.
Maria Petisca – City Walls TripAdvisor
Superb Portuguese food with a contemporary twist from an excellent chef/owner (Maria). This restaurant is located the other side of the town just outside the old city walls. So, it is a decent walk but worth it. My favourite dish is the Duck breast with Fig and Port Wine Sauce and my wife’s is the Salmon with Lime and Orange Sauce. For dessert, we always treat ourselves to the Churros with toffee and chocolate sauces.
Calhou – Town Centre TripAdvisor
A lovely, family-run restaurant specialising in freshly cooked Portuguese food. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. The fish and prawns Cataplana is one of the best we have had and the homemade desserts are excellent (made by mum). Both the house white and red wines are excellent and the complimentary liqueurs were lovely and completed a perfect meal.

CIUCCIO – Town Centre Trip Advisor
This is a fairly new Lagos restaurant so we haven’t been ourselves. However, we have heard great things and it is already a Lagos culinary favourite, with many guests lauding its delectable homemade pasta and seasonally inspired dishes. The charming and lively ambience is consistently celebrated. Due to its popularity, securing a reservation is recommended to avoid long waits.

Great Mexican restaurant and bar with a good selection of craft beer. Vegetarians are well catered for and all food is fresh and very tasty
